Temporary Emergency Care until a Qualified Wildlife Rehabilitator can be reached.

The three most important things to keep in mind to help the wildlife are listed here. Resist the urge to feed or give fluids, formula, etc. Please as this can cause harm !

1.Keep Animal Warm : supplemental heat such as a heat pad on low, a rice sock heated in microwave also works for a hour. Do not heat a injured tortoise/reptile

2. Keep Animal Quiet

3. Keep Animals Environment as Dark as Possible. A ventilated cardboard box is perfect.

By providing, dark, quiet and warmth you are helping the animal or bird. Please do not give liquids or food until instructed how to do so. Keep children and pets away.

The internet, feed stores or pet shops are not a reliable source for information. The time to reach a rehabilitation facility is when the animal is first rescued. Make sure you are saving an orphan and not creating one.

Call Immediately.

Call first/leave a message/ Text or call before driving to a facility. Wildlife rehabilitators are volunteers, each call and intake takes time, please be patient, we sometimes text back and ask for a photo. Please offer to drive the animal or bird to the rehabilitator, at least part way. Consider a donation towards care, just a few dollars helps so much. We do not receive any government funding or salaries for our services.
